How You Shaped Me

i would not be me

without you,

and how you’ve shaped me

like the ocean shapes

the log on her shore

when the moon carries her home.

Carving her

with her name,

claiming her,

in belonging,

the fallen, wooden branch in turn making her mark

with her dissolving

 in the vast infinite tides.

i would not be me

without you,

would not be here in this moment

with dreams coming true.

It is you who has brought me here,

to this place of myself,

no more sharp edges and sticky points,

by the graces of your bathings.

How can i express my eternal gratitude,

for our play

 in this sacred grove,

with your washings of feelings, healings, and delights?

I want you to work on me forever.

i would not be me,

without you,

your gentle and gracious lapping,

your passionate and wild outpourings,

hollowing me to holy,

and how you’ve shaped me,

 to be who i am,

Your weather gifting me with beauty,

the beauty of becoming one with you.
